A BILL to amend article three, chapter five of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended,
by adding thereto a new section, designated section two-b,
relating to vesting the attorney general with the power and
duty to administer the West Virginia cable television
systems act.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article three, chapter five of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be
amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section two- b, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 3. ATTORNEY GENERAL.
§5-3-2b. Assumption by attorney general of administering the West Virginia Cable Television Systems Act.
The office of the attorney general is hereby vested with the
power and authority to administer the West Virginia Cable
Television Systems Act, W.Va. Code §5-8-1 et seq. Any reference
to the West Virginia cable television systems advisory board
contained in W.Va. Code §5-18-1 et seq. is intended to be
understood as the duties and responsibilities of the office of
the attorney general.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require the Attorney
General to administer the West Virginia Cable Television Systems
Act.
